Wildlife

Stellars jayThe waters, beaches and forests of the Nehalem Bay Area abound with wildlife.  Whales pass by during their bi-annual migration.  The shoreline teems with birds, including many types of gulls.

Stellars jays, chickadees, nuthatches, flickers, woodpeckers, house sparrows and a variety of hummingbirds are just a few of the local birds, and many more stop by during migration.

Elk and deer can be seen in the forests and meadows.  Raccoons chipmunks and squirrels are plentiful and can be pests.
